![]() I believe that's how the over-damage is calculated, feel free to correct me if they've changed these mechanics. But if you bite the same corpse with a Giga, and you do 20,000 damage to a 5,000 hp corpse, then you get 20 hide because you did 20,000 damage even though the corpse only has 5,000 hp. So if you get 1 hide for every 1,000 hitpoints of damage done to a corpse, and you are harvesting a corpse with 5,000 hitpoints, then your raptor that hits for 500 damage would get 5 hide after hitting 20 times. ![]() I believe that this is due to how the game calculates over-damage. If you take a heavy hitting dino and bite a dead animal, you might get more meat/hide than hitting the same monster multiple times with a faster dino that has the same melee attack. One thing that people often forget is attack speed. I'm guessing the dmg has to be over a certain percentage to make a difference? Originally posted by Jay:Wait, so it does matter then? I dont understand why my wolf farms the same amount of chitin as my saber which has less dmg.
